Just when you thought that He was done with you He says “nope, I’m not done with you yet.” Then you wonder if there is really something more that He can do. You may think that you are perfect, healed and so strong only to find out that you are not. Once again I allow Him to heal me. I have been healed in different areas but there are still places where God wants to heal in me. When God wants to take us into a new place with Him and we are willing, He heals us only one layer at a time because of our ability to handle it. Thank you Jesus!
What kind of healing?
I think of it as an onion. First, He starts with the thin skin on top and then He works on layers that are pretty thick, and after that, He heals more layers.
The outer thin skin can represent areas of our life that hurt happened recently and maybe not the most difficult. The rest of the layers are thicker. These thicker layers can resemble hurt or circumstances from a long time ago or because the incident may have been so terrible.
I am guessing that healing will take place until we meet Jesus since there is suffering and pain here on earth. Throughout the Bible this is portrayed. In Psalms, we read about deep soul pain and hurt that King David was dealing with and was also getting healed.
Just when you thought that you had been healed and delivered, God allows you to go through yet another healing process.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and he delivers those whose spirit has been crushed. Psalm 34:18
Why now; why again?
It could be that the wounds are from so long ago or that they are too horrific to deal with so we had pushed them away, going to the extreme of ignoring and pretending that they never happened. However, In this season of your life, the Lord is asking you to deal with it.
God is not done with you yet.
At this point you are more mature spiritually and are able to handle it. So don’t push it away like you had been for years. Deal with it now and receive complete healing.
The word this year for me has been patience. I really hate this word because it causes a lot of soul searching and pain. But I understand that in order to go where God is calling us, we must go through seasons like this. That's why the Lord had instructed me to be still and wait for His every instruction.
I have learned that God doesn’t stop the work He began in us even when we may think that its done. Apparently, it won’t ever be done. We can be confident in His promise though that he will COMPLETE it one day.
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
The blood of Jesus is an antibiotic that is poured into our wounds to fight off any infection and heals it indefinitely. Once we allow Him to, the area will be healed forever and we will only have a small scar to look back on.
Protecting the heart
Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your HEART and with all your SOUL and with all your MIND.’ Matthew 22:37 NIV
We have to realize that the enemy is very crafty. He hides in areas within us so that our destiny would not be fulfilled. When we live with deep soul wounds, we are leaving open doors without realizing it. When the heart, soul, and mind are infected, we are NOT able to love God as intended. We need to free the hurt that is within and receive healing.
What can we do to protect ourselves from being so hurt or once we have been healed for us to never return to it?
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 NLT
It’s ok to laugh
Even when you are going through your hard time, its ok to take time and just have fun. Laugh, drink coffee, be silly. Since it will take time to heal, you don’t have to mourn 24/7. My suggestion is: live your life and embrace the process and in no means rush it. Ignoring it is not going to heal us either so we should not pretend that hurt or circumstance never happened. Allow God to work it ALL out.
How do we deal with it?
Allow the process to happen and don’t fight God on it because first of all you cannot win without a struggle. I cope with hardships by praising God. I crank up my worship music and sing at the top of my lungs (don’t laugh at me, I know you do it too). Another coping mechanism that I use is to reach out to people and ask for prayer. I suggest you seek proffesional christian counseling to help you get to the root of some deeper things. I suggest a well know friend and godly woman: Kristin Krase Jones. She is phenomenal. Since His promise is that He will complete what He started, there is no need to even try to give up. We have been through so much already and I know that it hasn't been in vain. Sons and daughters of God, lets press on.
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Psalm 103:1 NIV
Jesus I pray for my friend reading this blog post. I pray that you reveal the deepest, darkest things in your timing and bring complete healing into their soul. You see their inner most being. You see the nights that they have been up suffering and crying. I pray for you to heal them in Jesus Name. I pray that you reach deep into their souls and heal their deepest wounds with your blood. Jesus you have given your life so that my friend would experience your healing like no other kind on this earth. God you are honored and praised for what you did on the cross for all of us, so that we would NOT have this burden but be healed completely.
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
