The Core Of Joy This Season

As we run around buying gifts for our loved ones, we are filled with so much joy. It brings great joy to be able to give and it’s so much better than receiving. It’s better to give when we are giving out of what we have and it simply confirms that we are blessed and are able to be a blessing to others.

MISTAKES

There was a season in my life when I was not in a position to give.  I was on the receiving end. It was not an easy season for my family but I thank God for so many different organizations and simple people like you who were generous. I remember going to the Salvation Army to receive gifts for my kids. It was a mix of feelings.  It brought great joy to be able to wrap gifts under the tree for my family. But at the same time there was so much guilt and shame for not being able to provide these "basic" needs. To make matters worse, there were mistakes of buying for others on a credit card because I was sucked into the rush of the season. It may sound silly but it took a long time for me to pay off my card. We can bless when we have something to bless with. We need to use wisdom in everything we do.

REDEMTION

Now days I am the one who gets to bless others and thank God I don’t do it through a credit card, it’s such an honor to give directly out of my account. I have noticed that the more I give having pure motives, the more I receive. It defiantly takes practice and faith to do so.

The world of the generous person gets larger and larger”. Proverbs 11:24

I am praying faith over you in this season. Wherever you are, believe that God is with you, he sees you, and he hears you.

ACTION

We can be so wrapped up in ourselves and our “issues” or simply our “awesome” lives that we are blind to the world around us. We wonder why we may be unhappy in our “blessed lives”. I can tell you from experience that joy can only come from God. The best ways to stop focusing on a circumstance is to distract yourself with:

1.       Submerging in Him alone - His love and forgiveness

2.      Being in His presence - spending time with Him

3.      Being His hands and Feet – giving back to others

Friends, God wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others. Maybe you are in a season of waiting for your promise; maybe you have just come out of a horrible season; or you are in a place where you are a blessing to others already.

Having joy through every season is the key to having a fulfilled life. If I had not gone through a season of lack, I would not understand anyone who lives through that. Be grateful in the season you are in even when it’s hard to be grateful.

HERE ARE A FEW VERSES FOR YOU:

Speak this over you life daily. Know that God wants to bless you so that you can bless others.

"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2

Remember that only through Christ you can have joy -

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. John 15:11

If you are about to give up – DON’T! Speak this verse over your life

The Lord is my strength and shield.

I trust him with all my heart.

He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Psalm 28:7 NLT
