Finding True Love with God

When you think of true love, what do you think of?

A Cinderella story? a romantic movie where a boy always sweeps the girl off of her feet?

What does it mean to have a relationship with God?

God wants to have a RELATIONSHIP with you. He is the friend and the boy friend who already likes and loves you!!!

1.     If you DECLARE with your MOUTH "Jesus is Lord," and BELIEVE in your HEART that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Once you do that - You automatically are in a RELATIONSHIP with God.

2.    BELIEVE and ACCEPT what Jesus did for you on the cross

NO MATTER WHAT: God Loves you and He will NEVER STOP LOVING YOU

He is waiting for you to LOVE Him BACK!!

Read - James 2:18-20

3. SEEK -  This is your first move towards God / Acting on your part of the RELATIONSHIP. There is ALWAYS 2 sides to every relationship!

 Read - Jeremiah 29:13-14

“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me - God.

SOMETIMES WE CANNOT ACCEPT THE LOVE OF GOD BECAUSE OTHERS HAVE NOT BEEN NICE TO US.

Background about me

Growing up in a culture where my parents did not express their affection towards me because they believed that by doing so, they will raise up a spoiled and proud child, so they only corrected me. Neither my father nor mother told me that they loved me or that they were proud of me. My parents did their best in raising me and I don't resent them but I grew up having a hard time understanding the love of God because I had nothing to compare it to. Only when I choose to BELIVE and ACCEPT the love of Jesus, was when I found my true love with God.

Is there someone or something in your life that has been holding you back from LOVING GOD?

What it looks like to be “in love” with Jesus

1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner – someone who makes mistakes and needs forgiveness

>>> For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

>>> Since we live in this in-perfect/ fallen world, we all need to be made clean – this is ONLY done through JESUS CHRIST.

2. Things I can do to show God that I’m serious about Him:
Pray for God to give you the desire to pray and for the desire to study the bible.

Do you know any people who have a TRUE LOVE with GOD? What is different about them from other people that you may know?

These people have so much love for people and for life. They are always happy and joyful even when things might not all be okay in their lives, they still CHOOSE believe and accept the LOVE of Jesus in their everyday lives.

PRAYER:

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I thank You for dying on the Cross for me. I confess with my mouth. I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God. I believe You are the Lord and that God raised You from the dead. Please, forgive me of my sins. Wash my heart clean. Come live in my life. Be the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Teach me to walk with You and live for You the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me and for giving me the gift of eternal life in Heaven with You. Amen.

If you want to change your life and just prayed this prayer - talk to someone about it - or contact me here - I would love to talk with you.

Practice getting into Gods word daily for 15 minutes. The Bible is about God and His character. When we are in a relationship with God, the Bible is a way for us to learn everything about Him.

When we have God in our lives, we can get through anything

Copy the verse down and pray for God to reveal what He want you to know -

For the righteous will never be moved;
    he will be remembered forever.
7 He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is steady;[a] he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.

Psalm 112:6-8

Your promise from God

The LORD himself goes before __ and will be with __; He will never leave __ nor forsake __.  "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."   Deuteronomy 31:8 (Read this everyday, replace the__ with your own name).
